Unten fällt das Sternenlicht erst durch die Atmosphäre eines Sterns, bevor es durch das Prisma aufgefächert wird. Einige Linien in dem Farbspektrum sind schwarz. Danabene das auf diese Art beeinflusste Sternenpektrum in Diagrammform, mit gut sichtbaren Absorptionslineien.
