The Observatoire de Haute-Provence is an observatory established in 1937 and located in South-Eastern France, about 100km north of Marseille. Among many different research activities relating to astronomy, atmospheric science and environmental science, it was here that Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz discovered the first exoplanet around a sun-like star in 1995 using the 1.93m telescope that is one of four available at the observatory.
