Kevin Heng is Chair Professor of Theoretical Astrophysics of Extrasolar Planets at the University Observatory Munich since 2022. He received his Ph.D degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2007. After holding fellowships at the Institute for Advanced Study (Princeton) and ETH Zurich, he became assistant professor and then professor at the University of Bern, Switzerland, for a decade (2013 to 2022).
He wrote the second textbook on exoplanetary atmospheres: “Exoplanetary Atmospheres: Theoretical Concepts and Foundations” (2017, Princeton University Press), which was awarded the 2018 Chambliss Astronomical Writing Award of the American Astronomical Society.
His research interests are:
Theory, simulation, observations, phenomenology and geosciences of exoplanets and their atmospheres.
